New website, guests, tours, and crazy-busy-ness.

Rome, Italy

Hey, all!  Just an update on what's been happening lately.  I have 2 giant, mega posts brewing, 1 normal sized one waiting, and several that have been happily percolating in the background for some time now.

I want to tell you more about Catalonia, give you a suggested route for a photo tour of Rome, get into the juicy details of the Doge's Palace in Venice, bite into some incredibly delicious Italian eats on a food tour, and (later today!) get a view from the top tier of the Colosseum!  I'd like to introduce you to my friend, Mariana, who is visiting Rome with her husband right now, too.  Oh, and I created a cover photo for the TourAbsurd.com Official Fan Page on Facebook to go with the new timeline layout (not a fan of the layout, but what can you do?).

The problem is not material, it's time.

24 hours in a day is not enough!

24 hours + 1 year of constellations = still not enough time!

You see, I've just set up AbsurdReviews.com, a companion site for brief reviews, travel tips, and guest posts.  I want to keep things here on TourAbsurd in a particular voice, with a certain focus (happy travels! nice people!  humor and serendipity!), but it meant I was having to edit my thoughts a bit too much and turn down some great opportunities for guest posts.

That, plus all the activity lately, has meant not a lot of time for sitting quietly and writing blog posts.  I mean, it's been fun – don't get me wrong – but I'm used to having LOTS of time to gather my thoughts and craft my material.  Anyway, here's a sneak peek of what I've been up to and what will show up here in longform, chuckle-inducing posts soon:

dough-de-dough!

Making homemade pizza with my Neapolitan family!  :D

shhhh!

Visiting the secret parts of the Doge's Palace in Venice with Sherry Ott.

Or, since she's eating, Mmmmmariana!

Providing eats for Mariana's Travel Thirst.

*drools on screen*

Indulging my sweet tooth on a food tour of Rome.

All of this and more will be on their way to you soon!  Now I must dash off to visit the Colosseum and get a VIP view from the top tier.  :D

Cheers and happy travels,
Katrina the Busy

    1. Oh, my goodness, yes! Mariana and her husband cooked fabulous Costa Rican food for our typical big Sunday lunch yesterday. Today we went out for Indian food after visiting the Colosseum. …and just now the dinner bell rang downstairs. So. Much. Food!
